Not For You Productions is the brain child of Ben Bishop and John Biggs. Like most things, it was conceived late on a drunken Saturday night. Ben Bishop, a classically trained actor (waiter), and John Biggs, a technical support analyst (whatever the hell that means), decided to bring some of their best late night jokes to life.

They recruited family members, friends, strangers, and acquaintances to help them in their quest. What started with a 5 minute one-shot comedy youtube sketch about pirates seeing mermaids (cleverly called Pirates and Mermaids) grew into a variety of short films, comedy sketches, and a web series that has been RECUT into a feature length film (depends on who you ask, it's 54 minutes).

Not For You's shorts have been featured in film festivals, and they participated in the 48 Hour Film Festival on three separate occasions. One outing earned them an award for their efforts. Their style of comedy focuses on poking fun at the ridiculous situations life throws at you, while delivering a strong story.

Throughout the course of their experiences, Ben grew from a mere actor to a bonafide writer, editor, and director, and John added writer and reluctant actor to his list of "skills."

     So where are they now?

After an illustrious partnership that has resulted in a great number of short films and exactly 1 marriage (not to each other), Ben and John now have to settle for a long distance relationship. Ben moved to Chicago to pursue greater career opportunities and acting gigs (some of which might even pay him money). John is going to school to become a novelist.

But don't worry, the Desperate Duo still collaborate from afar. They continue to write together and have many projects in different stages of production, and will keep making films they are passionate about.

Now with Rachel Van on the scene (the aforementioned marriage), Not For You has their leading lady (/producer/boom operator/script supervisor/whatever-else-needs-to-be-done).
